Research evaluation in The Netherlands embraces open research information

Two research assessment frameworks in the Netherlands are moving towards open research information indicators in line with the Barcelona Declaration on open research information.

In the blog post  Research evaluation in the Netherlands to embrace open research information important changes are discussed in frameworks used in the Netherlands for evaluating research units (Strategy Evaluation Protocol, SEP) and individual researchers (NWO's evidence-based CV format).

Both frameworks were updated recently. They now both encourage the use of indicators based on open data sources (e.g. OpenAlex or OpenAIRE) instead of traditional proprietary data sources (e.g. Web of Science or Scopus). In this way these evaluation frameworks are aligned with the Barcelona Declaration on Open Research Information.
