Since Monday 17 June 2024, a large part of the Institutenlaan is closed due to the renovation of Tinbergen Building. This means you will have to use alternative routes during the renovation of Tinbergen Building, which might cause some delay. Please find information about the alternative walking routes below.

Map with alternative walking routes

Hare route or turtle route

Visitors to the campus coming from Kralingse Zoom station can reach the University Library, Erasmus Building, G and F Building and Theil Building via the regular route along the Collegelaan.

Visitors who want to go to the south side of campus from Kralingse Zoom station or vice versa (e.g. to the Exam Centre, Mandeville, Langeveld or Sanders Building) are no longer able to walk or cycle via the Institutenlaan. The fastest alternative route (the ‘hare route’) is via the Kralingse Zoom, entering the campus via Erasmus Plaza near Sports Building.

The route that may take more time (the ‘turtle route’) runs across campus, past G Building and E Building. This route crosses the construction road on the Sportlaan. Passing construction traffic may cause a delay of several minutes.

Institutenlaan closed, alternative routes in place

During the renovation of Tinbergen, the Institutenlaan is closed and you'll need to use alternative walking routes across campus.
