Our focus
The initiative addresses two key challenges facing health systems today: strengthening prevention and ensuring accessible, sustainable healthcare.
Effective and inclusive prevention
Health outcomes are influenced not only by individual behaviour, but also by social, economic and environmental conditions. Our initiative investigates how policies in various areas, such as urban planning, labour markets and food systems, affect public health. The aim is to develop prevention strategies that are effective, equitable and applicable in policy and practice.
Patient-centred and sustainable healthcare
Healthcare systems face increasing pressure from rising costs, workforce shortages and growing demand for care. We develop frameworks that support transparent and value-driven decisions about healthcare services, including which treatments should be provided, reimbursed or reconsidered. Central to this approach is aligning healthcare decisions with what matters to patients and society.
Work with us
Smarter Choices for Better Health welcomes collaboration with researchers, policymakers and societal partners who want to contribute to better prevention and healthcare systems.
