Rijnmond recently published an article about ROOM, the innovative app from Erasmus University Rotterdam that focuses on student wellbeing and personal development.
More than 3,500 students have already discovered the ROOM wellbeing app. Recent research shows that the app is actually effective: students feel calmer and more positive after doing the exercises. Negative emotions such as stress and tension decrease, while positive feelings increase. The researchers conclude that the more often students use the app, the lower the perceived stress levels.
Value Proposition
What makes ROOM special is that the app supports students in recognisable and sometimes difficult situations, such as performance pressure, exam stress, loneliness or moving to a new country. ROOM offers various tools, including breathing exercises, mindfulness sessions and reflection questions. These tools make it easier for students to consciously reflect on their mental health and better cope with stressful moments.
"ROOM helps me to better understand my feelings and offers practical tools that support me during stressful moments"

Thousands of students have already tried it
Bente van den Akker, Implementation & Communication Manager Student Wellbeing, emphasises the scientific basis of the app:
'ROOM is fully scientifically substantiated and helps students to better manage negative emotions, regulate stress and improve their mood.'
The positive results indicate that ROOM is a valuable tool in strengthening students' mental wellbeing.
