Health Economics

Health Economics, Policy & Law

This specialisation in Health Economics is a joint venture between the Erasmus School of Economics and Erasmus School of Health Policy & Management. The latter is one of the leading centres in the world for health economics research and education. It is aimed at students with basic training in economics who wish to specialise in health economics.

In this monodisciplinary programme you will focus on acquiring in-depth knowledge of the concepts and tools for economic analysis of healthcare systems.

Health Economics is a relatively young and rapidly expanding branch of economics. It analyses efficiency, equity and incentives for patients, healthcare providers, insurers and other actors. There is a strong demand for healthcare analysts with an economic background.

We also offer a multidisciplinary programme, Health Economics, Policy & Law. Discover how these two programmes differ and which is the right fit for you.

In blocks 4 and 5 students of the HE programme should choose elective courses with a total minimum of 10 EC, which amounts to two courses. Within the HE specialisation, seven elective courses are offered.
