How well do you know the University Library? Behind closed doors, in a climate-controlled room, the Library preserves thousands of historically relevant, rare and fragile books. Erasmus Magazine went on a discovery tour and spoke with Roman Koot, curator of these special collections.

In a new video series about hidden places on campus, Erasmus Magazine explores a mysterious room in the University Library. Here, thousands of historically significant books are stored, including a rare travel report from 1689 by Dutch painter Cornelis de Bruijn. Roman Koot, the curator of the collection, shares insights into the importance of these works and how students can access them under supervision. “We are still collecting, so there is no end to that!”
