De Feiten Over Politiegeweld

Lezing door politiesocioloog Jaap Timmer
Three police agents in uniform, one woman and two men, photographed from the back.

In the Netherlands, the police are one of the few services that are legally authorized to use force. Usually this goes well, but videos regularly surface that suggest that officers are overstepping their bounds. What are the police legally allowed to do and not do? How is the use of police force monitored? And what happens when the police cross the line?
