The EUR Student Wellbeing Programme creates opportunities for all students to improve personal development and boost wellbeing during their student life, so they can grow in balance.
We aim to make students feel supported and encouraged to take care of their physical, mental, and emotional health, so they can reach their full potential, both personally and academically. We achieve this by developing wellbeing policies, organising wellbeing events and activities, collaborating with wellbeing stakeholders, training and informing staff and providing easy access to a wide range of support services. We strive to change the focus from study success to student success, supporting students thrive beyond their academic life.
Our mission & vision
Our mission is to promote student success through an integrated approach that empowers students to reach their full potential, both academically and personally, by providing resources, guidance and opportunities for growth, resilience and self-discovery. And we’re not alone in this mission. The Rector Magnificus and the Directors of Education of all faculties have signed the Manifesto on EUR Student Wellbeing ensuring a stronger focus on wellbeing in education with the aim of preparing students to be balanced, socially involved citizens of the future. To put this into practice, each faculty has appointed a Student Wellbeing Officer with whom we closely collaborate.
What do we do?
Together with other EUR departments and external partners we offer a wide range of support services and events for students:
- The Living Room helps to feel at home at EUR, while the Personal Support Hub is the place to find reliable information and support.
- Every week students can join events and coaching sessions in the Living Room and Personal Support Hub. Check out the calendar on MyEUR for upcoming activities.
- ROOM to grow, the free personal development app developed for and with EUR students, offers a variety of activities to support students at their own pace.
- Twice a year we organise the Student Wellbeing Week, which offers a great opportunity to try new ways of working on yourself and meet other students.
- Currently we are piloting Sports and Leadership courses in two faculties, with the intention to roll them out across all faculties in the future.
And much more! Take a look at the Student Support Overview on MyEUR to get an overview of everything the EUR has to offer!

Research & Monitoring
In addition, we are involved in and conduct research to better understand the needs, experiences, and challenges of students:
- Once every two years we monitor the state of student wellbeing through the EUR Student Wellbeing Monitor.
- Every other year we take part in the national monitor on mental health, alcohol, drugs, tobacco, and vaping among students.
- Regularly we start a new round of user research to be able to continuously improve ROOM.
