Deepening your knowledge

Step 4 in choosing the right study programme
Prospective student on the Bachelor Open Day.

You already have a number of interesting programmes in mind. Deepening your knowledge is an important step in your study choice process, but many students skip this step. Fortunately, you are not one of them! In this step, you will discover whether the programmes that interest you are really right for you.

Student for a day

During Student for a Day, you will be introduced to the programme you are interested in. A trained student (called an ambassador) will show you what a day on campus looks like. Do you live far from Rotterdam? Or is it difficult for you to come to the campus? For English-taught programmes, there's also Online Student for a Day.

You will attend a lecture and/or seminar and get to know the campus through a campus tour. The ambassador will tell you all about his or her experiences and, of course, you can ask any questions you may have. This will help you decide whether this study programme and educational institution are a good fit for you.

In conversation with students (online or offline)

Our students are your best advisors! Not so long ago, they were in your shoes. They can tell you everything about why they chose the programme you are interested in, what they like most about the programme and what they like least. You can talk to our students during the Open Days and Student for a Day events, but there are also lots of students available to chat online.

Bachelor Open Day

You may have already visited the Bachelor Open Day in step 1. However, it is also useful to visit the event to gain further insight. Some programmes offer special information sessions for prospective students who are already further along in their study choice.

For example, there are graduates who talk about their current jobs and how their completed education has helped them in this regard, there are sessions that focus entirely on admission requirements and possible selection procedures, and there are trial lectures. Of course, there are also many students who are available to answer any questions you may have.
