About Taiwan EUR PhD scholarship
These scholarships are a joint PhD scholarship between Taiwan Ministry of Education and Erasmus University Rotterdam. The scholarship is for Taiwanese citizens wishing to enroll in a PhD program at the various schools at Erasmus University Rotterdam.
- Taiwanese citizens only, not for foreigners studying in Taiwan
- Taiwanese citizen should not be already registered as PhD student, not at EUR not elsewhere (this is for new PhD positions only) · Complete list of requirements at the website of the Taiwanese MoE (link will be open from November 9th – November 25th, 2026)
- Submission of additional documents to MoE can until December 23rd, 3 PM Taiwanese time, 2026.
PhD scholarship covers tuition fee, research costs and includes €2000/month living allowance for 4 years (tax-free).
- Online application period & deadline: November 9th, 8:30AM to November 25th, 12:00PM (Taiwanese time) 2026
- Online application should be applied for before the indicated time, but supplementing documents (such as Letters of Acceptance) may be sent to MoE until December 23rd, 3:00 PM Taiwanese time, 2026.
- Schools may have their own PhD scholarship vacancies, please browse the websites of the specific schools and/or the school’s graduate school
- Candidates must apply for a position at the relevant Erasmus School and comply to the school’s specific admission criteria. This can be done before the opening of the call (it is advised to do so since the interview & selection process may also take some time)
- Successful candidates must ask the specific school for a Letter of Acceptance, but the candidate’s future supervisor must ask for the letter, not the candidate him/herself (Erasmus MC: dr Raoul Tan, ESHCC: dr Wei Li, ISS: ……., RSM & ERIM: Silvija Prancane - Verhoef)

- Announcement of selection results to EUR: end of April 2027
