Biography
Taco Reus is professor in Global Strategy at the Department of Strategic Management & Entrepreneurship, Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM).
Taco is interested in how the curious context shapes the curious psychology behind strategic decisions. He often studies this in the international context of firms, which is shaped by cultures, geopolitics, social movements and other environmental changes. The uncertainty and ambiguity makes it particularly important not just to study this context but also to study the psychological factors that determine how top managers think, feel and behave in this context and how that subsequently shapes their firms.
Taco Reus obtained his master's degree in psychology from the University of Amsterdam, and his Ph.D. in strategic management from Florida State University. With his dissertation entitled 'A Knowledge-Based View of International Acquisitions,' he was a finalist in the Organisation Science Dissertation Proposal Competition and the Gunnar-Hedlund Competition for Best Dissertation in International Business. Prior to joining RSM, he worked at Florida Atlantic University.
Taco Reus' articles have been published in the top management journals including the Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Administrative Science Quarterly, Journal of Management, Strategic Management Journal, Journal of International Business Studies, Strategic Organization. He served as the Senior Associate Editor on Strategic Management for the Journal of Management. He currently serves on the editorial board of the Academy of Management Review for which he received several outstanding reviewer awards. Professor Reus teaches on business in context, strategic management, international business, and mergers and acquisitions. He has frequently been nominated professor of the year by the Bachelor students.
