Protests have been announced for Tuesday, October 28, at Erasmus University Rotterdam on Campus Woudestein. Calls to protest against a professor have been circulating on social media for several days. A counter-demonstration has also been announced.

The group of counter-demonstrators with banners and signs moves from the square in front of the Spar to the Plaza, but is stopped by the police at Sanders Building.

Approximately 150 protesters gathered at Campus Woudestein
At this moment, both announced demonstrations are visible on campus.
Most of the approximately 150 counter-protesters appear to have come from outside the campus. They have gathered in front of the Spar.


The demonstration on the Plaza will start a little later. The first people are gathering around the Plaza screen.
Demonstrations around Sanders Building
The demonstrations will take place around Sanders Building – on the Plaza and in front of the Spar between approximately 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. (arriving from 2:00 p.m.). Employees of Erasmus University Rotterdam can continue to work at Woudestein Campus. If you feel uncomfortable, you can work from home in consultation with your supervisor.
Earlier, the university expressed disapproval of actions targeting an individual, especially in the case of an employee. We previously published a statement on this matter Erasmus University Rotterdam).
The demonstrations fall under the WOM (Public Manifestations Act), and the municipality decides in consultation with the police and the public prosecutor whether demonstrations are allowed or not.
