New partnership "Werkstad" helps people who are distanced from the labour market

To celebrate the launch of Werkstad, on 30 January the municipality of Rotterdam, together with Stichting L.E.S., organised a special job market for young people from the neighbourhood and their parents at the HefHouse. During the event, visitors had the opportunity to talk to employers and find out about job vacancies and training courses.

More than 80 people attended the festive gathering at the HefHouse. The aim of Werkstad is to strengthen existing partnerships between the municipality and large employers. In doing so, they want to respond in an innovative, intensive way to both the staff shortages experienced by employers and the challenge of helping harder-to-reach target groups back into work.

Within this initiative, the municipality of Rotterdam is working with leading employers such as Woonstad Rotterdam, Pameijer, Facilicom Group and Rhenus Logistics.

The event was also featured on the NOS news on Friday 30 January.
