Langeveld Building – Erasmus University
The multifunctional teaching building ‘Langeveld Building’ on the Woudestein campus of Erasmus University Rotterdam is one of the most sustainable university buildings in the Netherlands. Opened in 2022, it is a circular, energy-neutral and healthy teaching building. The building was designed according to the principles of biophilic design and utilises an innovative climate control system called Earth, Wind & Fire. The atrium’s structure was constructed using sustainable Dutch timber.
Building C – Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences
The second building is the Kralingse Zoom site of Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences. ‘Building C’ opened in 2023 and was designed by the same architect as the Langeveld Building, Paul de Ruiter Architects. This is also an energy-neutral building where visible attention has been paid to health and sustainable materials, with plenty of natural light and fresh air.
