How do neurons know who they are and with whom they should communicate? During this Night Talk, we delve into the complex world of the brain, where molecules act as unique barcodes that guide neurons in their development and interconnections.
This second evening lecture will be given by Dr.(c) Agathe Henocq from the Nanobiology department at TU Delft. She will demonstrate how nanobiological techniques help to unravel the molecular identity of neurons and why these microscopic codes are crucial for brain development, function and possibly also neurological disorders. It promises to be a fascinating discussion at the intersection of nanotechnology and neuroscience, intended for anyone with an interest in the brain.
Brain Awareness Week (BAW) is a global initiative that has been raising awareness of the importance of brain research among the general public for 25 years. In Rotterdam, it is led by Dr Anderson Mora Cortes (EUC). BAW is celebrated every year in the third week of March in more than 100 countries, involving universities, hospitals, NGOs, colleges and private organisations.
