Het Nationale Ballet presents: Reflections

Dance as a mirror: Art creates space for reflection, on ourselves and on the world around us. The Dutch National Ballet is the largest dance company in the Netherlands, with classical ballet at its core. In Reflections, four different choreographers present four distinct worlds.

• In Simple Things, master choreographer Hans van Manen focuses on human relationships, as in much of his works.
• Young Canadian choreographer Kirsten Wicklund has created a new ballet exploring gender equality, inspired by the celebration of 25 years of same-sex marriage in 2026 in Monumento.
• Solitude is a deeply moving work by Associate Artist Alexei Ratmansky. Set to music by Gustav Mahler, it depicts the suffering caused by war.
• The programme also features Symphony in C by George Balanchine; an ode to the pure classical Franco-Russian ballet tradition in which he was raised.
