This afternoon is all about discovering, asking questions and experiencing for yourself how science works – for young and old alike. An inspiring and accessible way to learn about the fascinating world of brain research.
Programme
During this family experience, visitors of all ages get a unique look behind the scenes of neuroscience research. An enthusiastic team of neuroscientists from various research laboratories presents interactive experiments, demonstrations and activities that show how the brain is studied.
Hooboken / 1st floor
Throughout the museum, visitors can walk past various stands, experiment with research equipment and engage in conversation with scientists.
Museum Classroom / 1st floor
The brain lectures are short, accessible lectures in which researchers talk about their work and share the latest insights from neuroscience.
Brain Awareness Week (BAW) is a global initiative that has been raising awareness of the importance of brain research among the general public for 25 years. In Rotterdam, it is led by Dr Anderson Mora Cortes (EUC). BAW is celebrated every year in the third week of March in more than 100 countries, involving universities, hospitals, NGOs, colleges and private organisations.
