Biography
Jan Lodge is an Associate Professor in the Business-Society Management department at the Rotterdam School of Management.
An organizational theorist by training, Jan uses qualitative methods to primarily explore the topics of scandals, misconduct, and wrongdoing.
In this context, he is interested in how and why organizations contribute to social, environmental, and economic problems as well as, on the flipside, how organizations can be held accountable for the harm they cause. In addition, he has a keen interest in the associated topics of negative social evaluations and social and institutional change.
Most recently, Jan has conducted research across diverse settings including multi-national corporations, public sector organizations, social housing providers, the alternative protein industry, and prison reentry organizations.
His work has been published in the Academy of Management Journal, the Journal of Management, and the Journal of Management Studies, among other outlets, and he holds a Ph.D. form the University of Cambridge, Judge Business School.
Prior to joining academia, he worked as a management consultant at L.E.K. Consulting where he advised international clients across industries on organizational design, market entry, and growth strategies.
