Biography
Dr. Jing Hiah (zij/haar) is Universitair docent Criminologie bij de afdeling Law, Society & Crime, Erasmus School of Law, Erasmus Universiteit Rotterdam.
Jing is geïnteresseerd in criminologische vraagstukken omtrent de geglobaliseerde en gedigitaliseerde arbeidsmarkt, het zogenaamde criminology of work. Dit brengt haar tot de bestudering van social harms in werk en arbeid, arbeidsverhoudingen, de verzorgingstaat, werkercontrole, -management en -surveillance, arbeidsmigratie en mobiliteit, mensenhandel en arbeidsuitbuiting en de platformeconomie. Haar expertise omvat kwalitatieve onderzoeksmethodologie en Jing is geïnspireerd door kritische theorie en feministische perspectieven. Jing is redacteur bij het tijdschrift Dialogues in Digital Society, bestuurslid van de Nederlandse Vereniging voor Criminologie en lid van de Young Erasmus Academy van de Erasmus Universiteit Rotterdam.
Dr. Jing Hiah (she/her) is an Assistant Professor of Criminology at the Department of Law, Society & Crime, Erasmus School of Law, Erasmus University Rotterdam.
Jing is interested in criminological issues regarding the globalized and digitalized labor market, the so-called ‘criminology of work’. This brings her to study social harms in work and employment, employment and labour relations, welfare, worker control, management and surveillance, labor migration and mobility, human trafficking for labor exploitation and the platform economy. Her expertise includes qualitative research methodology and Jing is inspired by critical theory and feminist perspectives. Jing serves as an editor for the Journal Dialogues on Digital Society, is a board member of the Netherlands Society for Criminology and is also part of the Young Academy of Erasmus University Rotterdam.
