How to design an assessment plan for your course

Introduction

Research shows that testing has an important influence on the learning process of students. However, there is no such thing as a best form of testing. So how can you choose the most suitable test format for your subject? To achieve this, it is valuable to have knowledge of the assessment vision and assessment policy. In addition, making an assessment plan is also valuable in arriving at a suitable test format for your subject. An assessment plan provides insight into whether the test formats match the learning objectives and whether they are covered. In addition, the assessment plan can help in assigning weight to the various test components and how the final grade is arrived at.
