How to construct exams & questions

MicroLab
Assessment track

Introduction

Constructing exam questions can be a challenging task. How do you make sure your assessment will be both reliable and valid? In this MicroLab you will learn how to apply the quality criteria for MC & open ended questions to ensure the optimal utility (reliability, validity, educational effect, acceptance & cost-efficiency). We will also discuss ways to ensure grading reliability and how to optimize feedback. This MicroLab has a blended format and consists of online preparation and a workshop. For example, one of the preparation assignments is reviewing example exam questions, which you will discuss with your peers in the workshop. After completing this Microlab you will have created or improved your own exam.
