Surfing in clear water

Erasmus Alumni Chain: Aquablu

Many entrepreneurs get their business ideas from doing the thing they love most. For Marnix, that was riding waves on the South African shores!

Erasmus Alumni Chain - Aquablu

Whilst in the water, he found himself surrounded by empty water bottles and other plastic waste. And in the city of Cape Town, local people were using the last liters of drinking water to clean the streets and water their plants! That first-hand experience caused Marnix to think about the problems surrounding drinking water globally. When he got home, he discussed these issues with his friend Marc, and together they founded Aquablu. With smart technology from TU Delft, Aquablu produces portable water purifiers that create clean drinking water across the globe. Watch the video to see Marnix defy the ice-cold Dutch sea and learn more about their company and its objectives!
