At the second “ESL Let’s Talk AI” lunch meeting, we focus on one central question: how do we implement AI in our education in an effective and responsible way?

Margreet Luth-Morgen will demonstrate an AI bot trained on the collective expertise of methods teachers. This bot can provide rich, process-oriented feedback on writing – in some cases even better than we can ourselves. But a proof of concept is only the starting point.

In this session, we will discuss questions such as:

  • How do we involve students in this process, so that AI supports (rather than takes over) their learning?
  • How can AI genuinely reduce our workload, and which core teaching tasks should we not outsource?
  • How do we embed AI-based feedback didactically in our courses, instead of just adding a technological “layer” on top?
  • Which conditions (transparency, privacy, bias, assessment) are essential for responsible use before scaling up?

BYO lunch, see Margreet’s demo, and help us decide: if this works… what should our next step be?

We will provide drinks and snacks!
