Launch Strategy 2030
Erasmus University Rotterdam (EUR) is working on sustainable solutions to major complex societal challenges. The new Strategy 2030 brings focus and acts as our compass in the coming years. During the festive Opening of the Academic Year 2025/2026, the launch of EUR's new strategic direction will therefore be the focus.
The success of the strategy hinges on the commitment of our staff, students and partners. As one connected Erasmus University Rotterdam, in values and responsibility, we remain world leaders and committed to the region. During the Opening of the Academic Year, we therefore explore the central question: what does it require of us, as a university, to be meaningful in a rapidly changing world - and how does Strategy 2030 bring us together in this? Prizes
The Opening Academic Year is also the moment when the Education Prize, the Rotterdam Thesis Award and the Student Societal Impact Award are presented to students and researchers from our community who have distinguished themselves remarkably. The Education Prize and the Student Social Impact Award are made possible by the Erasmus Trustfonds.
Livestream
Opening Academic Year can also be followed via a livestream that is publicly accessible. The language of the ceremony is Dutch.
Reception
There will be a reception after the ceremony. The reception will take place from 16:30 to 17:30 hrs at the Theil Hall.

Photographs and video recordings will be made during the Opening Academic Year. You may be recognisable in the images. As a visitor, you consent to the storage and use of these images for commercial purposes.
Sustainability
The Opening Academic Year will be a carbon-conscious celebration, with vegetarian catering and offsetting of CO2 emissions.
